In our tool we use a Com-Object of a PDF Printer to print our stuff. To replace the printer, the easiest way would be to connect another PDF printer via COM.

I can't find any information on whether Microsoft Print to PDF is offered as a Com Object and searches the registry - I can't find a ClassID for it.
