I am trying to connect a USRP N310 to an external front end, which requires divided I/Q components. I also have a Basic TX/RX board. Is it possible to use such kind of boards with the USRP N310? Or, is there any other way to get I/Q components divided? Thank you!
We have two Basic TX/RX boards, which functionality is to enable connection to external devices. Yet, opening a USRP N310 case does not look very straightforward.
The Basic RX/TX board is not suited for the N310 form factor; it is not possible to put it into the N310 enclosure.
Furthermore, it is not possible to have a baseband output with separate I/Q from the N310. The internal RF circuitry of the N310 is not made for that.
If you must use an N310 in this way, then you will need to externally mix the signal from a fixed IF (you would tune the N310 to this IF) down to DC with separate I and Q paths.
