In Altium Dsigner 23.6, I am using IPC compliant footprint wizard to generate footprints and I noticed that it sometimes adds via ground. I did not check or uncheck anything regarding adding vias to my knowledge. I am just curious when the compliant footprint wizard decides to add vias and when not.
I generted a footprint for QFN 4mm by 4mm. and the wizard added viagrounds. To my knowledge, I did not check or uncheck anything regarding the vias. I also generated a footprint for QFN 3mm by 3mm and there are no viagrounds in the footprint. I expected to see no via for all procedures. I wonder why there is a difference.
