Mozy is an online backup service. It was created by Berkeley Data Systems, a company founded in 2005 and purchased by EMC in late 2007. Mozy currently offers home user, SOHO, and enterprise backup services.

Originally released as a consumer product for end-users (MozyHome), Mozy later released a remote backup utility for businesses called MozyPro, with additional functionality and an administrative portal. MozyPro is the business class version of the Mozy backup service. MozyPro requires a separate license for each computer that is being backed up, as well as a server license for any server that is being backed up. Customers then pay per gigabyte of data they have in the data center. Mozy products use a diff-based backup method for files in order to transmit less data.

SQL Server online backup with MozyPro

Anyone using MozyPro to backup SQL Server databases? I'm concerned about the way it does the backup. It just copies data files the way they are. Not using the backup database command. Is it safe?

Tortoise SVN Icon Overlays Displaying Everywhere...Why?

Update: So, this turns out to have nothing to do with Tortoise SVN. I use Mozy.com for off-site backups and their new version includes these icon overlays. They can be disabled via the config options...or see here…
