I first began developing in Basic around the age of 10, using Interplay's Learn to Program Basic course for 2D gaming. As I grew, I began to dabble in other trades. I have been a competitive fencer, a swimmer, leadership in band (marching, concert and jazz), where I played trumpet, a rock climber, a horseman. In 2001, I began my own blacksmithing service in order to aid my parents in the training and care of our standardbred racehorses.

While running that business, I picked my old interest back up, and earned my Associates degree in Computer Science from Lansing Community College. While earning my degree, I also worked as a Red Cross-certified Water Safety Instructor, and was promoted up to Assistant Manager of the Eaton Rapids Subway. In 2008, I began my internship at NetRate Systems, Inc of Okemos, MI, and dissolved my farrier service. Upon graduation, I began working full-time at NetRate and was shifted to development in Delphi, though I continued to hone my C# skills on the side. While working for NetRate, I became proficient in HTML, XML, javascript, COM interoperability, and SOAP services.

I continued to progress at NetRate until 2016, when I received an offer from Quest Software Inc of Saint Johns, MI. Continuing in Delphi at Quest, I was able to add mobile development in the FireMonkey API to my expanding list of skills, and gained further knowledge of SOAP services, including SMS/MMS through CDyne's services. In 2018, NetRate Systems underwent a change in management, and I was invited back to my original employment, where I continue today.

I am an avid gamer of all kinds, whether video, tabletop RPGs, CCG, board games, whatever. My favorites are Halo:CE, D&D 5e, the Star Wars LCG, and Magic: The Gathering. I just like having fun. I have dabbled in video game development via XNA, MonoGame, and Unity, and would love to increase my knowledge in that area, but much of my free time is now spent with my wife and three children. I love reading, and I am working on growing my childrens' interest in it. My favorite books are the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, the Trader's Tales series by Nathan Lowell, and the X-Wing series of Star Wars books by Michael A. Stackpole and Aaron Allston (I am a HUGE Star Wars nerd, and am grooming my children to follow in my footsteps).
