I usually just look things up. I have yet to participate in open source especially, because my host frowns on me putting things on my site that are anything like public repositories for open source.

That’s not to say I couldn’t participate, just I cannot start out hosting volumes of public information.

I am mostly self taught in programming, but took a college class that taught me Java, which has helped me learn other programming languages. But, it’s all learning that never ends, at least for things still under development.
