An EECS major from Cal, I worked for over ten years as a software engineer, programming for embedded systems in C for several wireless telecom companies, mostly startups. I then got a master's in applied economics from SJSU, taught introductory macroeconomics for a year, worked about seven years in education technology, first as a subject matter expert in economics, and then later in statistics as I learned about R programming and data science.
I'm now working in finance, hoping to become an analyst. I'm married to a music composer with the voice of an angel, and we have two sons. The 7 yo was programming in his TI calculator since he was 4. It seems to be a much harder to do that than for the 8051 microcontroller, so I'm pretty sure he has the gift!
