I like to call myself an old dog learning new tricks. I started programming in the early 80’s on a home computer (Commodore 64). From the beginning, I was hooked. I decided to make it a career and went to DeVry University. I graduated in 1989 with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. In school, I learned mainframe programming using COBOL, JCL, and DB2, but after graduating, I began working for the US government (DLA) on mid-tier systems using C, HP Unix, and Oracle. I also did some PC programming using Microsoft Access 2.0. Years later I worked as a PeopleSoft consultant. Now, I am focusing on Open Source systems and have spent the last several years learning HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, NodeJs, and now MongoDB. Don’t know what I will do with it, but I am looking for opportunities. I have a wide range of experience and will contribute as time permits.
