There is value in learning from others and teaching others what you have learned. One of my simple joys as a programmer comes from empowering analysts. Too often our profession is viewed as something that phases out jobs by producing a cheaper alternative. I don't want that. I don't want to replace the analyst, I want to empower them to do what they want without the technological burdens. With the hope that over time these analysts, regardless of industry -- researchers, accountants, actuaries, mechanics, engineers, etc -- should have more time to consider more options for more accurate analysis and results.
