I write apps that delight users and enrich their lives. I am an experienced iOS developer and product engineer, fluent in Swift and Objective-C, and proficient in UIKit. I am skilled in app architecture, technical design, UX design, project and team management, and have experience in technical writing and documentation. I can take an app from an idea to a shipping product and provide technical, design, or business consultation along the way.

I have worked extensively in AVFoundation and WebKit, particularly involving music, audiobooks, video, ebooks, and comics.

I am happy working in every part of the iOS application development life cycle. I work well with clients to meet their needs and write applications that not only function well, but are well engineered and scale well. I have comfortably led a team of 2-4 developers for years, but I am also happy to work underneath and alongside other senior developers.

I initially prototyped, and then was awarded the privilege of being the lead developer and architect responsible for the Hoopla Digital iOS application. This application is used by millions of people to stream audio, video, and ebook content for free through their public library, with hundreds of millions of transactions and streams. It has achieved great success on the iOS App Store in the US and Canada since it debuted in 2014, and has maintained high user satisfaction with nearly a 5-star rating.
