My digital path in life has gone from learning BASIC in college (where we wrote our assignments on paper because "personal computers" were still in their infancy) to being Digital Technical Director on a music video for Paul McCartney to Silicon Valley to digital show production at a planetarium and many places in-between, but has always had components of cutting-edge tech, coding, Internet (even before the web), TCP/IP, websites, HTML, CSS databases, and SQL.
Here are a few stops along that path:
- developed graphical Battleship-style game on Dad's Apple IIe in the early '80s
- created icons for the historic Bloomberg Terminal in the late '80s
- Digital Technical Director for Paul McCartney's "Off the Ground" music video at Industrial Light and Magic in '93
- created and released communications app called "Messenger" in '94 with all the features that AOL and others would later make famous in their same-named products
- early team member in two pioneering Silicon Valley startups in the mid-to-late-90s
- implemented full digital show production at a world-famous planetarium in the early 2000s
- created award-winning children's DVD (now on Amazon streaming video) in '05
- developed key heuristic solutions for workflow management and load-balancing of customer work at a successful motorcycle shop in the later 2010s
- currently formalizing and updating my skills in a top-5 university coding bootcamp
