Self taught developer in .NET and C#.

I have a Masters in Journalism which I never used and worked most of my career in hospitality. I worked as a hotel manager when I got approached by a software company in hotel tech to join them as installer and consultant. Working there sparked my interest in programming and soon I learned SQL and report development in Crystal Reports.

In my personal time I started learning C# in .NET Framework and later .NET Core combined with courses in web development.

Three years ago I started applying for development jobs but not having a degree or relevant experience (only did small projects) it was really hard to even get invited to interviews at first. I landed a job at a media company because I insisted on doing a task for them so I could showcase my code/writing.

Currently I am a back end engineer at Mews where I write functional C# (FuncSharp) in .NET 7 using EF Core.

I like to learn new things and experiment with code.

I also like Front End especially React and Svelte.
