I am a cognitive and evolutionary anthropology student interested in how culture evolves through a process similar to Darwinian natural selection, and how the function of the human brain co-evolves with accumulated traditional knowledge and 'cultural algorithms'. If memes are entities that spread and reproduce through populations of brains, how are brain structures altered by this process and does this lead to altered cognition and reproductive fitness?
