I started my career as a developer in 1982 and have tried to stay current despite professional digressions into management and process consultancy. Professionally I have been involved in large projects using Pascal, C, Fortran, and PowerBuilder, and then Java. I have implemented minor projects in Ruby, C#, PHP, more recently Javascript. I have also taught the XP-style of engineering. I am most interested in coding paradigms and patterns and how to optimise the quality of code and the coding process.
