Ziqi Fan graduated his PhD from the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at University of Florida. He worked on computational physics and developed numerical solvers for Helmholtz equation using the fast multipole methods (FMMs) on heterogeneous systems (combination of CPUs and GPUs). He is now working as an algorithm/software engineer for CUDA systems at a semiconductor company. Ziqi holds the belief that great engineers should understand physics in depth, keep learning math, and especially be good at mathematical reasoning. Besides his efforts in improving coding skills, he is also interested in statistics and optimization. He also wants to accumulate more knowledge in the foundation of mathematics: mathematical logic and set theory.
