I am a server-side engineer at Ibotta in Denver, CO. Major accomplishments during my time at Ibotta have included using machine learning to improving fraud detection, better personalize content, and analyze predictors of user churn. My work is mainly in Ruby on Rails deployed on AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift). On the front-end I have used Angular and Ember.

Personal interests include software development and Bayesian statistics. My graduate studies focused on Bayesian approaches to machine learning and artificial intelligence. Most of my statistical work is done in Python, R, or a combination thereof. For visualizations I often use libraries such as d3. I have also taught introductory programming and data science courses at Duke University, Washington University, and University of Miami. I am a certified instructor with Software Carpentry and Data Carpentry and am available to teach workshops.
