My current loved languages
- Python, brilliant flexibility for quick code use while being incredibly powerful although not the fastest performance-wise.
- Node.js (& JavaScript), has one of the best package eco-systems ever (npm), though often takes a bit of setup to get running.
- HTML (& CSS), I love it to bits for designing websites (and apps via CEF), the combination of these languages are truly a perfect match.
- React, it's a fantastic way to utilize HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to result in very efficient and readable Website source code.
Languages I know but don't often use
- C#, used to be one of my main languages until I switched to Linux (Arch Linux specifically) and aimed for cross-os compatibility. It can be run on Linux by the user of .Net Core or the even newer .NET, however, even the top-regarded Linux-based IDE's struggle to get the environment working properly since Microsoft Visual Studio is incompatible with Linux.
- PHP, a nice language overall but there's a lot of tropes with it I don't like, it's also being phased out for other languages lately like Node.js & Express or Python & Flask.
- AngularJS v1.x, it introduced me to great ways to utilize JavaScript in the modern web, but there's a lot to it I haven't liked and it's also now essentially EOL and replaced with "Angular" which I have not checked out.
Languages I don't know enough but wish to learn
- C++, the general idea of having to manage your application including its memory to the fullest degree, allowing complete control is very intriguing to me. The fact that reverse engineering its code is also quite a bit harder than almost all other languages also looks very nice.
What I like to do
I tackle work on Desktop or Web apps and have not yet worked on anything mobile related like Android or iOS development. I have yet to find a niche that would utilize a mobile environment well enough.
What I'm currently up to
- Slipstream, The most informative Home-media backup solution.
- pvsfunc, Compilation of VapourSynth Script's and Functions.
- HMDb, A free to access community-built home media database of home-media (e.g. Blu-ray, DVD, and VHS).
UI and UX Design
I'm no professional in the field, but I do dabble with UI and UX design. All my projects use design work I myself have done, but some parts may have been added or changed by OSS contributions, so I can't take all the credit.
The UI designs I tend to make can be described as floating, round, and modern. Everything in my designs aims to have uniformity in design, color, and spacing.
