I joined an Oregon newspaper in 2004. Thanks to the editor who took me along a journey and taught me I could do the job, gave me lots of help, confidence, and responsibility. It was life changing, took a chance and now here I am.
I loved the work and the staff. It’s important and it’s a bit different from the standard commercial environment. Now my partner and I am involved in creating a website domain marketplace to compete with sedo.com and others. Lots to learn and lots to lose. And I know, it's a very big challenge.
I was born and raised in Oregon, went to high school and college here and love the Pacific Northwest. There’s really no place like it. The weather is mild and we have just about any kind of environment for which one could hope.
I have two brothers, one who works for the government and another as a police officer in California. He’s a good cop.
I’m a romantic when it comes to music. I prefer ballads instead of hard rock or hip-hop. Guess I’m pretty square. That’s me. I try to find the best in people but admit to allowing some to get to me, disappoint me sometimes. But of course, they all have their problems.
I am not married so I can keep busy. That really helps.
I live to work and love meeting people. When not working, I walk in nature, winter or summer, and find people who enjoy talking.
UPDATE: I just moved to McLean, Virginia. I now work for USA Today and NBC. But trying to learn ColdFusion programming. Javascript can't seem to stay in my small brain. And so it goes.
