I am a new learner of C# and VS (started dabbling 09/20). I have used visual basic and created a small application for my company, for the engineers time sheets, in 2002. I was self taught, VB for Dummies and the Help section were invaluable!! It was OK, but just used the form to fill out the excel spreadsheet. My company uses Lotus Notes and I thought that it would be cool to use this, as it seemed to offer a ready made DB environment along with the ability to create a UI form to load and save the data. The software developer showed me a few things, gave me some code to look at and with that I built a TimeSheet application. Once again, I taught myself how to use LotusScript and Lotus Formula language, create Views, manipulate the data and even write a monthly and weekly summary to a spreadsheet (for accounts). I am now enjoying the learning curve for C# and hope to create an application that, whilst specific to my work, will help my fellow service engineer colleagues. I have a few other ideas....but one project at a time.
