Development Experience – I am currently a software engineer for a live event production company. In my role, I develop web applications for virtual conferences as well as lead the technical execution of the project. As a project’s technical lead, I identify opportune solutions by objectively considering multiple developers’ feedback then critically thinking about how those solutions apply to both the customer’s requirements and use cases. My daily workload typically involves solving aforementioned problems by creating reusable components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as Vue and React. On an as-needed basis I parse client data using spreadsheets or python. Once the data has been cleaned, I’ll create databases and data structures within Firebase, then integrate the data into the applications. The typical virtual conferences that I build involve live streaming multiple sessions in concurrence, attendee Q&A, custom permissions for user groups, dedicated social media feeds, as well as gamification of the conferences to create unique and competitive experiences for attendees.
Project Management Experience – In my last 5 years of managing projects, I have ensured that projects stay within scope and are delivered on time. I accomplish this using my talent for envisioning the big picture, critically thinking through the purpose of each step, and finding answers to open questions and gaps. Through my exemplary documentation and communication skills, I create alignment and enable the team to perform at their best. While every company has different applications and workflows, I’ve been able to use my technical expertise to add value to every team. My curiosity and drive to simplify everyday tasks enables me to quickly understand workflows of each project and apply my programming knowledge to increase productivity, streamline processes, and improve communication across multiple channels.
