While originally trained as a biomedical scientist holding a Ph.D. in Medicine (Leiden University Medical Center - Leiden, The Netherlands), I specialized in text analytics since 2015. Redline through my career has been working with (extremely) large datasets containing genomics data and text data. Similarities and analogies in the ways to analyze genomics and text data, allowed me to smoothly extend analyzing the 4 letters of human genetic code to the 26 letters of the alphabet.

I have a particular interest in text analytics technologies that have the capability of extracting insights hidden in millions of text documents. I discovered the IBM Watson products portfolio in 2015. I have been working with IBM Watson technology since early 2016.

Since 2017 I am running TXT INSIGHT B.V., a text analytics consulting firm. We use technologies like Watson Explorer, Watson Discovery, Natural Language Understanding, Watson Knowledge Studio.
