It was great back in the 80's when my then best friend and I sat in front of his commodore 64. Ever since, I try to keep a clone of boulderdash everywhere I go :-) Then in the 90's we were wondering what the internet will do to the world, and some guys even had it at home. But for me computers were more a tool for making music. Coming from Berlin to Hamburg, the University Courses offered some insights into music information retrieval and sound processing in general. From then on I worked with audio data and various symbolic notation formats. I did some statistical research there and a whole lot of latex. At the moment my concern is pitch detection in Guitar tuning applications.
