Wrote my first program in FORTRAN IV in 1969. Since then been in computing in a variety of roles: Uni lecturer, computer science researcher, software engineer, project manager, technical director.
Getting toward the end of my career, I am renewing an interest in how languages are developing. Saw most of this stuff over twenty five years ago when I did a Ph.D. in language design and implementation ("Abstract machine design for increasingly more powerful Algol-like languages").
It is great to see the resurgence of interest in dynamic languages, functional programming, polymorphism.
