I am a Senior Software Developer experienced with PHP, SQL, JavaScript, JQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Java, C++, Linux, LAMP, SQL Server, AWS and more. I have also done shorter projects in NodeJS, Python and Ruby on Rails. I have been working on the full-stack for most of my work experience.

I have 20+ years of experience developing Web Software applications. The majority of my experience has been in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) on the server-side and JavaScript/JQuery and HTML5/CSS3 and a couple of JavaScript frameworks on the front end. I also have 20+ years of relational SQL database design experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).

On nearly all of my past jobs, I used critical thinking and judgement to make design decisions about the User Interface (UI) to make it and intuitive and user-friendly experience. I am experienced at gathering requirements from clients and users and translating those into a product and project scope prior to implementing the project. Once the requirements are gathered, I am typically the one doing the hands-on implementation myself or assisting hands-on with a team of other developers to create the software code.

I thrive most when working in innovative, agile, fast paced, open, collaborative work environments. I have 10+ years working for start-up companies creating bleeding-edge software that pushed the limits of what was possible to do with current technology. My variety of experience makes me a "jack-of-all-trades" since I am used to "wearing many hats" in fast growing startups, small companies and medium-size companies.

I have a strong personal interest in working with companies or organizations that are helping people grow and become better people and/or enriching the lives of people in a positive way and/or contributing to helping nature and the environment in a direct way.

I live in downtown Toronto since I enjoy the diverse culture of Toronto and I am involved in many communities in the area after hours. I am, however, open to remote work in any timezone reasonably close to the Toronto timezone (ie: most of Canada and the US).
