Astronomer/planetary scientist at NASA Goddard/UMBC.
My expertise? Mainly orbit determination, planetary geodesy, astrometry and general relativity.
What I do? I code in Python/Fortran/Java most of the day, when my students let me ... otherwise I debug their code and try to guide them. Oh, and when I feel motivated I read, write, and review proposals, and scientific articles, and proposals... and then possibly scientific articles.
Nerdy hobbies? I have a "train tickets exchange" website called ilTrovaTreni.it (Italian for TrainFinder), widely used in Italy (that I initially used to learn html/php/mysql/css/etc..)
Less nerdy hobbies? I love "spontaneous" travelling, skiing, hiking in the mountains (made it to 2 over-6k mt, 2 over-5k mt in the Andes and 2 4k in the Swiss alps) and exploring the Alps in general. Oh, and I got a couple of sailing boats with friends even if I am damn sea-sick. ^^
