I am an analyst working on NASA projects. Most of my time is spent updating, debugging, and testing Fortran code for satellite retrievals, but I also spend a fair amount of time on post-processing analysis of products in IDL and Python. I also dabble in C to prepare the packet stream from satellites for the retrieval code.
My background is in the atmospheric sciences with a focus on satellite retrieval of stratospheric aerosols and gases as well as land-atmosphere interactions. These two very different fields have exposed led me in various analysis and programming directions, from running weather models and analyzing output for publication to developing algorithms for parsing ethernet packets.
