I am a passionate hands-on Software and Systems Engineer working in the vast application spaces for embedded systems, from mobile handsets (on the device side) to large-scale radio-network controllers (on the network side) and several elements in between including Cable Modems and end user devices like tablets, WiFi Clients & Access Points, and Digital Televisions/Set Top Boxes. Over my academic career starting as an Electronics Engineer dealing with capacitors and transistors and high speed digital busses and then moving up into several layers of the software protocol stack up to and including the middleware in my Masters and PhD, I have been amazed by the breadth of optimization possibilities available for any engineer who wishes to brighten his day and wow his customers as an end result. My main goal is to find avenues for such optimizations and provide generic software based constructs (in technical lingo, known as frameworks) that make life simpler for everyone and efficiently meet customized user experience or Quality of Service (QoS) from an end-to-end perspective across a variety of heterogeneous platforms, applications, and users while simultaneously considering portability, scalability, resource usage, and power consumption.
