Alice grew up in Louisiana and came out to sunny California to attend Stanford, where she received her B.S. in Software/Electrical Engineering. She then received her M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research/Management of Technology through the Haas School of Business and College of Engineering at UC Berkeley. While at Stanford and Berkeley, she was heavily involved in various dance groups and enjoyed organizing networking, mentoring, and community outreach events for the Society of Women Engineers.
After a couple of internships as a software engineer, she discovered her love for combining coding and public speaking when she spent one summer at Nokia Research in Beijing working on phone apps and presenting them to execs from around the world at the Olympics in English and Chinese. After graduation, she spent three and a half years as a Developer Evangelist at Microsoft, speaking at national and regional conferences, webinars, and workshops, working with developers on building Azure, Windows 8 and Phone apps. She’s now getting developers excited about monetizing their apps with MoPub as a Developer Advocate at Twitter. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, discovering new places to eat, training in circus arts, and riding motorcycles.
