I have dabbled with programming all my life, but never extensively. From the command line for the Commadore 64, QBasic, very little with action script, very little with c and c++, very little with php.

Programming has always been in the back of my head as something that I have a strong desire to learn, but have found it difficult finding the time to learn. Always being self taught in this department, I get frustrated and give up.

So its on to round four with learning the basics of programming and it seems that the stackoverflow website is a great place for noobs like me to learn from the pros. I'm sure I will have some very simple, stupid, or obvious questions at times but if you are willing to humor me then I will reciprocate as I learn more.
