I've been around computers for about 35 years. I work for the California State University system. Starting with a Control Data 3150 and an old PDP 11/45. We even had some old IBM 513s and other ancient stuff that you programmed by moving wires around.

Things were simple in those days. You knew COBOL and Fortran and you were set. No more. These days, it's a constant struggle to keep up and I can only cram so much into my head what with all those old Hollerith codes stuck in there.
