I work in Software QA for a financial industry solutions provider.

What has brought me to SO is my project to teach myself Ruby. I started out inventing problems for myself- write an app that will tell you how many seconds old you are (without using any built-in calendar or time functions in Ruby), an app that will look up words in a dictionary file, an app that will solve the Coudal "whose fish?" problem, and, when I came up short of invented projects, I moved on the Project Euler, which is currently twisting my Liberal Arts Degree brain in knots. I've never been so good with math, but this is making me want to learn more.

I am really enjoying all the interaction and helpful content here at SO, and I hope to be able to actively contribute someday.
