Scientist in my first life, Programmer in my second, and now in my third life, I'm retired and writing a science fiction book.

In terms of programming, I was doing Javascript when it was still in beta ( or maybe alpha!) and emails to and from Brenden Eich flew back and forth in the middle of the night.

Next came Visual Basic, and then web development with .NET beta, MS-SQLServer and C#. Sorry, nothing using the Apache, PHP or Java.

I think Google Apps-script is the next big thing, and I am trying to learn it, but am really frustrated because I cannot make it do what I want. I'm not very interested in spreadsheets except as a place to put data. I AM interested in manipulating documents and sites.
