Hello and thanks for viewing my profile!

I am currently developing an online Computer-Aided-Dispatch (CAD, not to be confused with Computer-Aided-Drafting/Design) website for a hobby group. CADs are used by emergency services personnel to provide information to police, fire, EMS and even public works departments.

This required me to learn PHP, which I had never used before and learned as I went. I do know CSS/HTML, but hey, who doesn't? I'm also moderately skilled at JavaScript/JQuery.

I began to branch out into real software development by diving headfirst into Java for use with Android. In doing so, I did hours and hours of research into other mobile app creation services, tools, and systems as well.

Oddly enough, I did not start out with C/C++ like (many) most people do. When I did take a class on C/C++, I found that I was spoiled from Java, specifically with pointers. I detest C/C++!

I have done a little work with C#, which I found to be, at the core, just like Java. ...Until you want to do nifty things, of course!

One of my biggest problems with scripting/programming/coding is my memory. My brain subscribes vehemently to the "use it or lose it" theory. I'd like to cancel that subscription, but I'm unfortunately not in charge of that :P! Therefore, I struggle quite difficultly with remembering the "basics" of syntax/styles/concepts/etc., as I progress further into a language, so I do apologize if I ever ask a really stupid sort of question on here!
