I don't normally use the double-barreled surname, but I wouldn't want anybody here to mix me up with the other Andrew Casson who is a much better mathematician than I am!
I'm a professional software engineer with 34+ years' experience. Since late 2014 I've been working on mechanical simulation and anaylsis software for a world-class manufacturer of industrial equipment, so the amount of mathematics that I'm encountering and employing daily has shot up. I now consider myself fairly experienced with vector-based 3d geometry, although always from a pragmatic, practical point-of-view, never 'maths for its own sake'.
Away from the day job, if anybody has heard of me who doesn't know me, it's probably for my independent academic work in the study of medieval musicology, in particular related to the Cantigas de Santa Maria.
