To a novice question of what is your favorite language, editor, etc...

I counter question: does a carpenter claim a favorite tool?

Oh, I "love" this hammer, not so much a pencil or tape measure - too easily broken and too many fine details; not so much the square - just too rigidly set in its ways; not so much the saw - rings the ears and dusts the eyes...

There are a bunch of tools that are preferred for a task... No carpenter just carries a hammer... To have just a hammer, then all things are treated like a nail; better, more efficient outcomes occur using a screwdriver, though one can set a screw with a hammer... :(

They're just tools, libraries, languages, all for facilitating a solution.

I'm a generalist, using whatever helps solve the problem.
