Rui is an experienced professional, with expertise in several areas of knowledge, mainly related to information technology and management. He is methodical, autonomous and attentive to meeting deadlines and achieving goals with high quality deliveries. He takes pleasure in acquiring new skills and enjoys challenges.

Rui loves to travel and discover different places and cultures. He is Portuguese, born in Angola, and as a child he emigrated to Brazil, where he completed his studies and consolidated his professional life. In 2015 he returned to Portugal, with his wife and two children, in search of professional challenges and new cultural experiences.

Rui is curious about how things work, and loves to share knowledge. Likewise, he is pleased to learn about other perspectives and ways of analyzing alternative solutions through other points of view. Rui believes that education is the key to combating inequality, reducing social and economic differences and will be a determining factor in reversing ongoing climate change.

Throughout his professional career, Rui has followed relevant technological and social transformations that have profoundly changed business and the way people relate to each other.

Rui graduated in Data Processing Technology in 1992 at the University of Alfenas (Brazil), and in 1994 he completed a specialization in Systems Analysis at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters in Belo Horizonte (Brazil). Since then, he has accumulated experience in various technologies and methodologies related to the entire software development cycle, including analysis and requirements gathering, data modeling, agile and waterfall methodologies, analysis and structured design, management of development teams, maintenance and sale of software packages, maintenance and deployment of mission-critical servers, and provision of cloud services.

Over the last eight years, he has been consolidating skills in software development for financial services, namely in the areas of insurance, credit and risk and means of payment for Portuguese banks, in a mainframe environment.
