Learned to program punch card readers back when core memory was donuts with wires running thru them (Air Force-1968 ish). In Hong Kong 1982 started playing with Apple IIe, then PC clones. Learned C-Basic on an Osborne Executive while installing X-ray machines in China in early 80's. Never actually in the computer field, just a "super user". Got real good at VBA in the early to mid 90's. Retired in 2001 and learned pHp and mySQL just to keep brain engaged. Created many websites as a hobby. Drifted away and about 5 years ago had a call from an old pal to help start a business. It was to repair beyerdynamic mics, headphones, conference systems. He got the warranty business for the Americas. Already a gmail user used to sheets, I was able to stand up a business in two days with forms and linked sheets. Very dynamic, doing the repairs with one other guy and shipping, receiving, managing large parts inventory, cleaning and programming. Wow !!! So that came to an end (sad story) and now I am helping that friend try to remotely handle a sound rental company he has had for over 40 years. Working on PM system that takes google calendar data into a spreadsheet and creates a gantt chart so he can find conflicts between workers, equipment, venues, etc all from 800 miles away. So here I am.
