Good day to you, profile reader! I'm a person with curiosity in all things coding (this profile was created on Stack Overflow; re: non-coding stuff is in 2nd paragraph, so feel free to skip to there if reading on a non-coding site). My current project is working on a sound effects HTML page to use on my Fire Tablet for my model street railway for my 2 dimensional diorama (the MSTRR part of my handle, the GL-RTA part being the name of this fictional entity). I'm an autistic person who has 6 years clean of heroin & sober of alcohol (as of June 2023). As such, I'm having to take things at a slower pace as I can understand them. It is my hope that by learning to code for this project, I can eventually code other projects for people with needs similar to mine (as messing something up for a fictional company doesn't matter 2 heave-ho's, whereas messing something up for a live project has consequences). Normally, I'm reservedly comical or snarky in these bio's for privacy's sake. However, since the point of this community is to lift each other up thru mutual aid in each other's projects thru questions, answers, edits, etc., I'm being more open than normal. It is my fervent hope that by becoming a contributor to that community, in whatever fashion I can do so, I pay forward what it has given me before I registered: knowledge to both begin learning from the coding experiences of others and hope that I'm not alone in having various issues and frustrations regarding the 0's and 1's flying thru the air in our modern, techno-society. This site-- and others like it-- have given me a sense of purpose and I'd like to return the favor by helping others as I've been helped.

I didn't realize, at first, the incredible diversity of this community's experiences when I first signed up and when I first wrote this bio section. My interests outside of coding vary greatly, one example being The Mandalorian. So, when I saw something about that in a column to the side, I clicked on it and realized that there's more similar groupings to Stack Overflow and they do more than talk about coding. I look forward to participating in these communitites! As an autistic person, I naturally see things differently. However, while that doesn't always mean I see things correctly, it does mean that I have an attention to detail and see things that those around me don't necessarily notice (or didn't connect 2+2 to make 4, and so on). I'm looking forward to discussing these things with others that have noticed them (without necessarily having the same diagnosis), and correcting misconceptions about movies, tv, even life itself. This is a place that I feel safe to do as Ms. Frizzle always says, "take chances, get messy, make mistakes" and learn something.
