Unfortunately, I was spoiled by the practicality of the education at RPI and found only theoretical hoo-hah at the Tobacco Road universities, i.e. Masters was only the theoretical stepping stone toward getting your PhD...

30 years in software development and ancillary software stuff Started as an assembly language programmer for hard real time systems went to C and dynamic languages such as Python... even a stint in COBOL. Spent 3 years in PHP, HTML, Javascript for embedded browsers. Some Java at the console level.

Just started C++ and it is killing me... just saying. I was so empowered by Assembler that the abstraction is a distraction...
