I develop interfaces for automated laser marking machines. The list of components that are integrated into the machine are listed below.
- Laser control cards
- IO control cards
- Step drivers
- Bar code scanners
- SQL database
- Touch screen monitors
- PLC interaction
Not only am I a software engineer, I'm also a design engineer. I use SolidWorks to design the laser machines which use a pulse fiber laser.
Before my current employment, I designed automated welding machines for GM using Unigraphics NX3
I also, literally, wrote the user manual for the GM Unigraphics Tool Kit, and contributed to the creation of GM's Global Design Standards (GMD1)
