I am a weekend code warrior but have done high-level scripting of all sorts, primarily for my own uses, inclhding for many years an e-commerce site designed from the ground-up, and more recently, just personal muse in areas of code intersecting with music. I originally learned processes and technique using a very obscure language called MGI (google it) which is kind of a sort-of replacement for PHP and mySQL. Go figure. I've been a lurker of numerous forums and have learned a great deal from these forums. After years of doing this I quickly see and recognize good code vs not, and the code I write is very compact. I'm fairly decent at javascript and recently have been diving into PHP and mySQL and OMG the multi-dimensional aspects are pretty cool, as are the built in functionality and tools already in place. Cool.
