Current position

• Software developer in industrial computer vision (10 yrs total, 8 of which as team lead)
• Responsible for 6 devs + some 20 assorted student staff
• Co-supervised several theses, usually 1-2 thesis students at a time
• Own development mostly in C++, some Qt GUIs
• Focus on framework development / refactoring and go-to-guy for everything complex
• Establishment of deep learning and assorted data augmentation techniques (basic research and evaluation, data augmentation and management, CNN architecture design, training, evaluation, deployment on live production systems; past 5 yrs)

Prior work experience

• Consultant (software prototypes and business model evaluation in the renewable energy sector)
• School teacher (maths/physics/computer science), student ages 10-19
• Post-Doc in self-organized production logistics
• Successfully worked remotely for several stretches of time since 2006
• Can provide references/testimonials from all previous employers

Education

• MSc equivalent in physics (thesis on error correction in quantum computers), 1 year abroad in Bristol, UK
• PhD in computational systems biology (self-organized formation of structures in micro-organisms)
• Both theses heavily simulation-based (C++, 4 yrs total).
