I have been coding since I was 11 years old, starting with BASIC using punch cards, then the ZX80, ZX81 and Sinclair Spectrum before mastering 6502 assembly language on the BBC Micro. Following a break to get an Economics degree, I became a professional coder, using COBOL and SQL. I eventually became a qualified Oracle 7 DBA and nailed data modelling. I moved from coding into project and programme management, but coded for fun as a hobby outside work for a couple of decades. I'm now back into coding professionally and am finally mastering PHP. I'm also getting the hang of Laravel, which has some delicious features, and I am a huge fan of PHPStorm.
