I started programming in 2003 when I discovered Visual Basic.NET. By buying several books and reading several resources online, things started clicking. About 2 years later, I sold my first application - a project management application, proprietary to the needs of my client, that also tracked inventory by pulling production metrics from other systems.
In May 2008, I started my internship with Menards as a Computer Hardware Support Intern, during which I repaired hundreds of machines ranging from desktop computers to receipt printers. I was also one of the few to repair LCD monitors by soldering in new capacitors or backlights.
In August 2009, I was hired as a Senior Java Programmer by a daughter company of Menards, Midwest Manufacturing. In this role, I helped to manage our ~56 internal web applications, 2 kiosks, and public website. During my last 2 years there, I played a key role in the development of new engineering software that allowed our building engineers to navigate through a 3D model of the building they were engineering and make modifications while we re-engineered the building to code based on the customer's zip code.
In January 2013, I started working as a Software Engineer for JAMF Software - based out of our Eau Claire, WI office. In this role, I help to develop and evolve the server application for our flagship product, the Casper Suite.
