About me
I'm a designer & full-stack engineer focusing on the front-end: UX/UI, brand identity, website, mobile app design. I have experience with DevOps operations.
I had a startup that got sued for 3 million dollars and learned a lot from this startup experience and legal process.
My experiences
I have been doing this since 2006 in design, and then I started front-end development because I felt it would improve me as a designer. So now I can design while understanding how back-end development works, and that kind of experience is valuable when building design.
I write HTML/SCSS, JavaScript, and React for front-end development.
I also can do the following:
- Python
- Unit testing
- Terminal
- Bash shell scripting
- Docker
- CI/CD implementation
- Github Actions
Software choice
My software program of choice is Figma for web & mobile design. I use InDesign to generate professionally designed documents in PDF. Then, I built a custom script in Gulp to speed up front-end development, and I shared the script on Github available for everyone to use.
Community contributions
I wrote a few tutorials about Gulp to help people. I've written:
- How to start using Gulp in minutes for developers who want to start using Gulp
- SCSS Bootstrap starter kit is a Bootstrap base with a Gulp compiler for developers who want to bootstrap their new projects without too much configuration.
Teacher life
I tutored and trained a few students for web design and front-end development. My student is currently successful with freelance and obtained a full-time job. I wrote an article about him. Check it out here.
Freelance life
I work and maintain remotely for several long-term clients with their larger projects while dipping in and out of quick projects. I worked with Delta Airlines, Millers, the University of Houston, Payday, and other companies. I also worked on a few open-source projects which have gone viral on mainstream media and greenlit on Steam.
