I have lived in and around the Boston area my whole life and have been working with computers almost as long (since DOS 3.0 came out). I first became interested in programming when I learned LOGO in grade school. After taking a BASIC programming course in high school, I started teaching myself C and C++ using Borland's compiler on x86 systems and wrote several programs including text-based games with some animated graphics on the splash screen. As the Internet was just emerging and growing, I learned the basics of HTML and created several web‐pages. I then took a Visual Basic course at Northeastern University where I achieved a grade of 4.0. I began contracting around this time and took jobs setting up and maintaining networks, building computers, coding in FORTRAN, and programming EEPROM chips for control systems.. I then enrolled at Massasoit Community College with a CIS major but soon after landed a job at Stream International in Canton, MA where I provided technical support for Microsoft Windows NT Server 3.51 and 4.0.

After leaving Stream, I found work at numerous companies as a private contractor building networks, web pages, and computer systems. As a contractor, I used numerous technologies to connect companies with clients and to store, organize, and display data in order to automate time-intensive and mundane tasks.

I then worked at Pearson Inc. where I increased productivity through my knowledge of Excel, Word , VBA, Oracle, UNIX, AppleScript, XML, and HTML by creating batch processes, quickly learning an understand new software, and merging; managing; and manipulating data. As a core member of a small, specialized group, I automated the creation of landing pages containing up to one thousand links from spreadsheets using VBA. I created multiple pages linking to some of Pearson's other content and redesigned the existing resource pages to be responsive and more visually appealing using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.

I now work as a UI developer at American Tower.
