I am a software developer with an emphasis on application development. I have worked on some commercial projects written in

• C++ (Win32, MFC, COM, ATL)
• C# (mostly WPF, touched WinForms briefly)
• Visual Basic 6 and VB.NET (I was forced to, honest!)

Despite my Windows background (in terms of software development) I am an avid Linux user. I have done some toy projects written in C utilizing Gtk 2.0. If I do find the time, I plan to broaden my development skills regarding POSIX/SUS.

During my free time I enjoy embedded systems programming. I occasionally contribute to Borgware-2D, a framework for AVR based DIY LED displays. I also had the opportunity to work on a project for the r0ket, an ARM Cortex-M3 based badge. Both projects are developed under Linux with GCC cross compiler toolchains.

Currently I try to gain a foothold in web development. I've chosen Ruby and its Rails framework to realize some first projects. I am fairly new to this so I'm still struggling here and there. While I'm familiar with the Ruby syntax I still need to work on some common language idioms.
