I am female, middle aged with a husband and 4 grown up children. Interested in computers and very involved in IRC. Having rheumatoid arthritis which at the moment prevents me working, I decided to add to my programming knowledge by learning new languages. I am almost embarrassed to say that I started out learning vba as an extension to Office, went on to study VB.NET and used visual studio, but now that my computers are all macs or running linux I would like to program in a language which is not windows dependant. To this end, I have started python and perl and plan to concentrate more on one once I have decided which I like best and think will be the most useful.
