My name is Morgan Benton. I started coding in the 4th grade. I have:
- coded professionally since 2001,
- taught/mentored >1000 college students in full-stack dev, agile process, ethical/social issues,
- spoken at numerous conferences,
- authored/published 20+ refereed papers,
- won/placed/judged in hack-a-thons,
- contributed to open-source (WP, Feathers, DefinitelyTyped, Exercism, and others), and
- occasionally blogged about things.
I write good code and I care as much about the people and the process involved as I do about the product. I'm relaxed, open-minded, easy to be around, patient enough to explain things, and an articulate communicator.
Outside of coding, I lived in Japan for over 5 years and speak Japanese fluently. I love food, drink, and travel (I'm a Level 6 Local Guide on Google Maps). I've been to Burning Man 3 times and I love making things (currently working on a 900-pixel LED light show for my office, and I love wearables).
