I spent two years running start up companies focused on marketing. I learned a lot about identifying and addressing customer pain points, but I became frustrated because I could not execute changes to our software and website as well as I wanted. Making changes to the code that improved overall customer experience was the fun part!

I spent a lot of time teaching myself any programming that might be useful to the company and found such a passion for it that I went back to school for it. I and am now a full blown software engineer specializing in the MEAN stack: MongoDB, Express, AngularJs, Node.
